The Victoria Jazz Society is a professional
arts organization committed to presenting the highest quality of jazz possible
to our community, by presenting music in performance, with acclaimed musicians.
Since 1981, through its innovative artistic vision, the VJS has attracted
thousands of leading artists from around the world to perform in Victoria.
The Victoria Jazz Society's primary activity is to produce two major multi-day
music festivals in the summer, Victoria's JazzFest International and the
Vancouver Island Blues Bash, as well as a series of concerts from September
to May, all featuring international, national and regional jazz artists.

Veteran alto saxophone master and six-time Grammy winner, David Sanborn,
has played a crucial role in establishing the sound of contemporary jazz
and instrumental pop. In his remarkable three and a half decade performing
and recording career, he has consistently embodied the dual ideals of virtuosity
and versatility, revealing a one-of-a-kind talent on his own releases while
building a singularly impressive resume that includes everyone from Gil
Evans to Stevie Wonder, and Steely Dan to Bruce Springsteen. His latest
album released in 2008, Here and Gone, is a tribute to the music of Ray
Charles and his arranger/saxophonist Hank Crawford. This album was produced
by the legendary Phil Ramone, and includes special guests Eric Clapton, Russell
Malone, Sam Moore and Joss Stone amongst others. David Sanborn performs
with his six-member band at JazzFest International 2009.

your invitation to book a complimentary fifteen-minute session with one of our professionals on staff.
These sessions take place
at the driving range, where our professional will be observing your golf
swing and the resulting ball flight as they assess the relative fit of
your golf clubs. If you've ever wondered how well your clubs are suited
to you and your golf swing, this is your best possible chance to get the
straight goods from one of the most knowledgeable staff of teaching professionals
in Canada.
These FREE sessions coincide with the recent opening of our Cordova Bay
Golf Lab! The GOLF LAB is located in the small building near the first
tee. We have assembled all of the key tools to measure golf clubs, including
a frequency analyzer to measure the relative stiffness of the shafts in your
clubs, as well as a weight scale to measure the dead weight and balance
of your clubs. You will have the opportunity to see if the clubs in your
bag are consistently built throughout the set. You will also see if the clubs
are actually what you have always assumed they are, including the loft
angles that are inscribed on the clubheads.

Tenants and Jawl Properties staff celebrated the achievement of the BOMA Best Level 3 rating for energy efficiency and sustainable building practices at 3350 Douglas St. 3350 Douglas St. is the second building on Vancouver Island to achieve this high rating. This is the third building in Jawl Properties portfolio that has been certified by BOMA. Congratulations to tenants, trades and consultants who made this possible through their efforts.   Thank you for joining Jawl Properties Ltd for Earth Hour 2009 held on Saturday, March 28. With your help electricity consumption in Victoria decreased during that hour by 3.1%* and in Saanich by 3.7%*. The energy saved throughout BC during that one hour was the equivalent of turning off 1.5 million lights. Thank you for your ongoing efforts to reduce energy use.
